Basic Floral Design will be held at Triple Oaks Nursery, through GCC Division of Lifelong Learning. Classes are taught by Lorraine Kiefer and are scheduled for Sat., Feb. 25th, Sat., March 3rd & Sat., March 10, 2012. (Please bring check in amount of $150 made payable to Triple Oaks Nursery to cover cost of materials for this 3 week class).
On the first week of this threeweek course, students will learn: how to condition flowers, florist hints for "mechanics" of floral design, and what to use and how to use it to make a simple or basic round centerpiece. (Must bring Clippers)
You will also learn how to wire a corsage, design a 1 sided "line arrangement" and the basic techniques of a silk wreath. All you will take home
Learn about the history, legend, lore, and practical uses of roses, as well as simple growing techniques. Create a beautiful wreath with real, dried roses (valued at over $50), as well as rose potpourri. PLUS: Coupon for 10% off a vase of roses (non-holiday time) and 10% off a rose bush purchase.
